About the Peace & Love Film Festival

What is Peace & Love Selection?

Peace & Love opens windows to upcoming films for a young and dynamic Scandinavian audience who love and cherish the talent of filmmaking. This section will offer an access to the Scandinavian film market and give an opportunity to meet our young audience, and create a buzz before the films reach the theaters in Scandinavia.

What is Peace & Love Midnight Screenings?

Every night at midnight, Peace & Love Film Festival will screen one epic music, sci-fi, action, thriller and comedy films on a outdoor screen to celebrate the anniversary of a film, a filmmaker or a sponsor. During the only two hours of midsummer night darkness, you will be seated in the main square in Borlänge to enjoy the end of the evening with an epic movie moment with your friends.

About the Short Films Submission

Why should I submit my short film to the Peace & Love Film Festival?

P&LFF provides accommodation and full festival access to all selected short filmmakers during the festival. You will meet filmmakers from the P&LFF Competition section at workshops and other events and if you wish, visit the big music festival held in the same city. The winner receives Svenska Bios prize for Best Short Film and 25,000 SEK.

What’s the condition of the short films submission?

You’re welcome to submit your short film, if you have a short film that was shot and produced in Scandinavia or neighbor European countries, dated between 2011-2012, equal to or less than 20 minutes.

What are the rules for submitting my film?

You’re welcome to submit your short film if it was shot and produced in 2012 or 2013 and between 5 min and 20 mins in length. Submission format is DVD. Competition format if selected is DCP with English subtitles. Submission period is normally from March to May each year. More information about submission you can find on the home page.
